My baby is no longer a baby...

My baby turned 2 this past weekend. I can't believe it. Everyone says that time flies, but it seems to have flown at a mega impressive rate.
We had a super fun birthday party for P. at the Little Gym. We invited all her little friends and she had a blast.

She is delicious, just like her special cake was.
I didn't buy her a gift this year, since the only thing she really understood about a birthday is that she got cake and got to blow out the candles. I went a little overboard, but it was worth it. She is still talking about it!

I jinxed myself

Blogging about the rest of my family being sick totally jinxed me.
I have been sick, in bed for 5 days now. First, it was bronchitis, then the stomach flu.
I can honestly say I have NEVER been so sick and I am dying to tell you all the gory details, but I don't think you can handle it.

This was the only thing that kept me going the past few days!
It's kinda cute, don't ya think?

This has been a shitty week (pun intended!)

So, this week has been a total gong.

The 3 of us have all been battling coughs and colds for months now (I call it - the daycare curse!), but for George and Phoebe it took a turn for the worse.

One morning, I had to leave at 6am for work. Phoebes was fussing a tiny bit while I was eating breakfast, but since she usually sleeps till 7:30ish, I decided to leave her hoping she would fall back to sleep.
Well, apparently, when I left the house and the garage door went up, Phoebes started to scream and yell and panic, so my hubs went in to ensure everything was okay...well it was ugly.
Phoebes had puked in the night and slept in it all night. She ate steak and grapes for dinner, so you can imagine what it looked like! Apparently the smell was horrendous and it was all dried all over her hair face and pajamas.

So, I felt like mother of the year when I found this out later on in the afternoon...why didn't I check on her when she was fussing?

Then, she must have passed along whatever bug she had to my hubs because he got it and was sick in bed for 3 days as a result. The only time he got up was to go to the washroom to puke, or to shower because he sweat thru his clothes.

The 3rd night of all of this sickness, I was giving P .a bath and she suddenly squatted and then took a huge dump (I mean HUGE) in the tub. Have any of your kids ever done that? What would possess her to do that? She is potty training and likely knows the difference between the tub and the potty (you would think!)
So anyways, my hubs got up to see what all the commotion was about and help phish the shit out of the tub -then started to puke from the smell...! fun times!

To top it all off, I have this chest bacterial infection that I can't free myself from. I have had it since mid November-no joke.
I just has a nice long soak in our jacuzzi with oil of oregano and eucalyptus oils and am resting up for next week.

Hopefully next week isn't as "shitty"

Oh, the things kids say!

I think kids become even cuter as they begin to talk more and notice more of their surroundings. Often when we are in the mall, my 2 yr old will point at a billboard of a model in a store and yell "Mummy!", it is very sweet and flattering that a model, although about half my size, reminds her of me. We have a bunch of Audrey Hepburn photos in our house and she tells Daddy that it is "Mummy" all the time, too-again, I just wanna kiss her.
But today, it was different.
We were playing on the rug in our family room and she and I created the following toy together, and then when asked what the toy's name was, she said with pride "Mummy!". What would you think if your 2 year old thought you looked like this?

4 P's

My day consisted of the 4 P's.

1) Phoebe
2) Panties (Dora, of course)
3) Potty
4) Peeing in the Dora panties instead of the potty (I am talking about Phoebe, of course-not me)

-Oh and then of course, I stepped in the pee.

Fun

Paperbag Princess

I love the Robert Munsch book "Paperbag Princess" and so does Phoebe. Since Christmas, I have read it to her each night. I wondered if she had memorized it yet (as she has Good Night Moon) so I asked her to read it to me tonight.
I couldn't figure out much of what she had to say, but I did pick out the following.

"Princess, dub a duba dub a duba, Ronald, Rhhhhhhhrrrrrrr, Ronald, Dragon, Princess, Princess, Go away! and Bum."

She is juicy!

All I want for Christmas is...

  1. Lululemon pants
  2. Lululemon sweatshirt
  3. P.J's (tank and long pants)
  4. Aperture (software)
  5. HomeSense Gift certificates
  6. A facial gift cert from Dermacare
  7. Jacob Gift Certificate
  8. Nine West Gift Certificate
  9. Ipad (I won't get this, but I thought I would throw it on here!)
  10. Any "Tarte" cosmetics I can get my little hands on
Is it impersonal to request gift certificates? I am requesting them because...well, I really enjoy shopping for stuff and picking out things I like for myself. Also, you can get some bangin deals on boxing day and the week after Christmas, so why not use your gift certs to reap in the deals?

Do you like to give/receive gift certs?
